Medical weight loss treatment

Evolve Medical can now support your weight loss journey and help you to achieve your target healthy weight with a clinic led treatment plan.

Our nurses and GPs have studied with the National Weight Loss programme to look at ways to increase your weight loss in a safe and supportive way

During your consultation we will assess your suitability for a medical weight loss programme. This will take into consideration your current medical conditions and current medications. We will monitor your weight, calculate your BMI and assess your current blood pressure/blood sugar. We also have the facility to take and send off bloods for sampling if required.

Any weight loss programme must also incorporate a healthy diet and exercise regime, we will discuss the amount of calories you may need daily to assist your weight loss. We can also and recommend local personal trainers and weight loss classes.

Our nurses and doctors can fully assess you for weight loss injections. The weight loss injections are often injected once a week, this can be done in clinic or you can be taught how to inject them at home.

Which medications do you use?

We can use different types of Medication and this will be discussed at your consultation. Mounjoro or Ozempic are the two most popular treatments.

How do the medications work?

The medications are a weekly injection.

Mounjoro/Tirezepatide works on two differect hormonal receptors: GLP1 (glugagon-like peptide-1) and GIP (Glucose dependent insulinotropic polypeptide). GLP helps to regulate blood sugars which in turn talks to the brain to reduce down hunger and cravings. This also slows down gastric emptying making you feel fuller for longer.

GIP helps to regulate energy balances in the brain and thus suppressing the appetite and managing sugar control.

This revolutionary drug is the first of its kind as most weight loss injections only control GLP-1
