Fat Dissolving Injections in Leeds

No matter how much time is spent at the gym or eating healthy foods, there are just some areas of stubborn fat that tend to remain. Fat dissolving injections are a form of treatment that helps to reduce the appearance of stubborn excess fat by destroying the fat cells and damaging the cell membrane to help you regain confidence in your body. In time, the fat cells are broken down and removed by the lymphatic drainage system.

What Are DesoBody Fat Dissolving Injections?

DesoBody and DesoFace is made up of a solution of deoxycholic acid used in the emulsification of fats and has been designed as a non-surgical solution to reduce localised areas of fat. It is worth noting that this is not a weight loss solution and is most suitable for smaller stubborn areas of fat.

What Do Fat Dissolving Injections Solve?

Fat dissolving injections are used to reduce smaller stubborn areas of fat around the face and body where diet and exercise has not helped to minimise fat. This in turn will help you achieve a slimmer, more contoured body or face shape.

The treatment can be used on the following areas; abdomen, flanks, inner thighs, arms, bra area, chin, neck and jowls. However, it is possible that a course of several treatments could be required to get the result you desire.

Who Is The Treatment Suitable For?

Fat dissolving injections are suitable for most people aged between 18-60 with good skin elasticity, as this will avoid the appearance of sagging skin after the treatment.

Fat dissolving injections are not suitable for anyone who is on a weight loss journey – the treatment is tailored towards those who are struggling with small stubborn fat pockets that simply will not budge. This treatment is also not suitable for anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding.

Before The Treatment

Before the fat dissolving injection treatment takes place you will fill out a medical questionnaire as you arrive at the clinic and have a consultation to discuss your goals and assess your suitability for treatment.

If both you and our medical professionals are happy for the procedure to go ahead, the procedure can take place that very day. Preparation for treatment will then begin – the area will be cleaned and marked out accurately to prepare for the injections.

During The Treatment

Our team of trained doctors and nurses will ensure you are comfortable throughout the procedure. A series of small injections will be administered into the area that is being treated. Treatment with DesoBody and DesoFace uses a cannula which is placed just beneath the skin through a single incision point to evenly deliver the active ingredients in a fan-like pattern.

The treatment is expected to last around 45 minutes depending on the size of the area that is being treated and, before leaving, you will be asked to make a follow-up appointment to review the results and ask any questions you may have following treatment.

After The Treatment

You can expect to have some mild redness, soreness and bruising after the treatment has taken place, however this should subside after a few days.

You may also notice some swelling for up to a week following the fat dissolving injections. This is part of the process of the fat cells expanding before they break down.

Aftercare Advice

We recommend that you should avoid hot baths and showers for 24 hours following the procedure. If you are bothered by any temporary pain, taking paracetamol and cooling the localised area with ice occasionally for around five minutes should help to ease any discomfort.

Following the treatment you may be required to wear a compression garment for three days to aid the lymphatic drainage and help to improve the results of fat dissolving injections.

  • Redness
  • Tenderness
  • Swelling
  • Bruising

While these side effects should subside within a few days, if you are concerned about anything following the treatment, please contact our team or get in touch with your GP.
