Tear Trough Treatment: FactFile

As the skin around our eyes is considerably thinner than the rest of our face, it is no surprise that this is where we first start to show signs of ageing. A lot of people feel that the eyes are the most important part of their face, so it’s important we take extra care of the area surrounding them. There are many great creams designed specifically for the eye area, as well as treatments to keep you looking and feeling fabulous. The Tear Through Treatment uses a dermal filler to correct and reduce lines and dark circles under the eyes.

There is no doubt this is one of the most successful treatments if you are concerned about the appearance of your eyes.

What is tear trough treatment?

Tear trough treatment is the use of a dermal filler underneath the eyes to correct and reduce fine lines and dark circles.

What will happen at my appointment?

You will be asked to complete a thorough medical questionnaire and sign a consent form. A full medical consultation will be carried out so you can be sure this is the right treatment for you and you will be able to talk through your expectations.

As with all of our treatments, we use the pioneering brand Juvéderm.

We will also take photos of the areas to be treated. These are so we can compare your results at a review appointment and see how well the treatment has worked.

The procedure is simply the injection of the filler into the tear trough area, which will be performed by our highly experienced nurse. This may cause mild discomfort, but with the combination of the local anaesthetic cream and the care of our consultant this is definitely one of the least painful ways of effectively combatting signs of ageing.

How will I look afterwards?

As with all injectable fillers there may be some slight swelling/bruising to the treated area. This will settle over a few days.

How long does the treatment last?

The treatment can last several months up to a year. This will vary from patient to patient.
