Facial aging

Facial aging

As we age our facial structure weakens and we lose facial fat.  Our face begins to develop wrinkles and starts to sag.

Facial aging generally starts with volume loss- or loss of fatty tissue followed by the effects of gravity- sagging of the skin.

Imagine a deflating balloon, starting off full and tight, slowly deflating becoming increasingly wrinkly, saggy and flat.

To combat these signs of aging involves treating both:

The skin itself to improve texture and condition

The lack of volume and increased wrinkling

Treating volume loss

Treating loss of volume with natural hyaluronic acid fillers can subtly fill wrinkles, sunken eyes and deflated cheeks, adding volume and definition and therefore creating a fresher more youthful look.

Treating wrinkles

To treat wrinkles Botox can be injected into the muscle giving a more youthful look.

Botox works by preventing signals from the nerve cells reaching the muscles that cause wrinkles so the wrinkles disappear.  It is usually used on the forehead, between the eyes and around the eyes, creating a smoother more youthful appearance.

It can also be successfully used to treat excessive sweating and migraines.

As Botox is a prescription only medicine it should only be prescribed and given by appropriately trained and qualified practitioners.

These treatments have temporary effects and can alter your appearance without the need for surgery but will need retreating to sustain the achieved look.

Skin texture

To improve the texture and appearance of the skin there are many treatments and products that can help.

Perfect Peel

This is a very deep peel which smoothes the texture of the skin by causing extensive peeling and therefore stimulating collagen production.
