    Excessive Sweating: Hyperhydrosis

    What is hyperhydrosis?

Sweating is a natural response to regulate our bodies temperature, a process that happens during exercise or when we have hot weather. Sweating is embarrassing, it stains clothes, ruins romance, and complicates business and social interactions. Clients can find this very embarrassing and distressing. They may even struggle to wear the clothes they desire. It can have a major effect on people’s lives and sufferers are constantly aware of trying to hide embarrassing wetness or sweat stains on clothes.

Excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis) means that you sweat much more – even when you are not hot or exercising. Clients can find this very embarrassing and distressing. They may even struggle to wear the clothes they desire.

    How can this be treated?

Having Botox injected into the armpit usually has excellent results. The Botox may take up to 14-days to work. The Botox works by blocking the chemical at the end of the nerves in the skin so that it can stop the sweat glands from working.

What will happen at my appointment?

You will be asked to complete a thorough medical questionnaire and sign a consent form. A full medical consultation will be carried out and all treatment options discussed in full.

Following a test using iodine and starch the area is marked out where the sweat is present. The armpit is then injected very superficially several times. Only minimal discomfort will be felt.

How much will the treatment cost and how long will the treatment last?

The treatment costs £425 per treatment and can last between four and nine months.
